Governing Board

Martin Stoyanov is a co-founder and Executive Director of RESECO Bulgaria. He has a Master’s degree in Law from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. His topics of interest include cybersecurity, the Rule of Law, regional security and hybrid warfare.

Stefan Karaleev is a co-founder and Strategic Development Director of RESECO Bulgaria. He has a Masters degree in Law from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. His expertise is in the spheres of regional cooperation, international conflicts, the Rule of Law, disinformation and media literacy.

Simona Nikolova is a co-founder and Director of Research Activity at RESECO Bulgaria. She is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Simona’s primary areas of interest include international relations, national security, and Bulgarian foreign and internal affairs. Before joining RESECO Bulgaria, Simona interned and worked for the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute as an associate.

Associates

Alexandra Kirilova is an associate and Social Media Manager of RESECO Bulgaria. She is in her fourth year of pursing her Political Science Bachelor’s degree at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Her field of interests inclues security issues and matters of the European Union.

Margarita Dilova is an associate of RESECO Bulgaria. She is in her fifth year of being a Law student at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She is interested in national politics, history, regional matters and cooperation. She is a part of the European Law Student Association.

Antonio Dafinov is an associate of RESECO Bulgaria. He is a final-year student in the Legal Faculty of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Antonio’s interests include international law, international disputes, American and Russian foreign policy. He has worked and interned at law firms, courthouses and the state apparatus.

Honorary council

Norbert Beckmann-Dierkes is the Head of the Bulgarian office of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. He has a Master’s degree in Politics, Geography, and History from the Westfälische-Wilhelms University in Münster. Before becoming Head of the Bulgarian office, Norbert has served as a head of the offices of KAS in Serbia and Montenegro, Latvia and Lithuania.

Maria Tchakarova is a research fellow at the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Bulgaria and is involved in projects related to education and innovation. Maria is a political scientist, who graduated from the University of Regensburg in Germany, and then completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Economics at Sofia University.
